Question
Is it permissible to perform ablution with the water in which an animal has died?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the animal is born in water, such as fish and frogs, then the water remains pure and purifying for ritual purity, and it is permissible to perform ablution and bathing with it. However, if an animal that was born outside of water dies in the water, it is not permissible to perform ablution with it, and the water becomes impure due to its death in it, even if it lives in the water; because the criterion is birth in water, not living in it.
