Whoever Wants to Make Up More Than One Missed Prayer Without the Call to Prayer and Iqama

Question
Is it recommended for someone who wants to make up more than one missed prayer to perform the call to prayer and iqama?
Answer
Whoever has missed prayers: if he calls the adhan for each one and performs the iqama, it is good. If he calls the adhan and performs the iqama for the first one and only performs the iqama for the rest, it is permissible. There are different narrations regarding the Prophet's (peace be upon him) making up of the prayers he missed on the day of the trench: in some, he ordered Bilal to call the adhan and perform the iqama for each prayer as we have narrated, in others, he called the adhan and performed the iqama for the first one, then performed the iqama for each subsequent prayer, and in some, he only performed the iqama for each prayer. There is no doubt that following the narration with the addition is preferable, especially in matters of worship. See: Al-Bada'i 2: 114.
