Destruction of Wealth After the Year Has Passed

Question
After I owned the zakat threshold, it was destroyed, do I owe zakat?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the wealth is lost due to a natural disaster: that is, without your action, then the zakat is waived from you, and you are not obligated to pay anything. However, if you consumed it through your actions: such as marriage, purchasing, eating, or others before the completion of the lunar year, then there is no zakat due from you; because the condition of the lunar year has not been fulfilled. As for if you consumed it through your actions after the lunar year has passed, then nothing is waived from you, and zakat is obligatory upon you, as stated in Rad al-Muhtar, 2: 21, and Sharh al-Wiqayah, Q54/A-B, and God knows best.
