I say, with Allah's guidance: There are two conditions for the permissibility of wiping over the Jarmuq:
The first: The conditions for wiping over the Khuffain, which are briefly: The first condition: They must cover the ankles. The second condition: It must be possible to walk the usual distance of a league or more in them — approximately five kilometers — without difficulty, and without wearing anything over them. The third condition: They must hold on to the feet without being tied, meaning they should be tailored to the size of the foot. The fourth condition: They must prevent water from reaching the body when wiped over due to their thickness, as thin ones allow water to pass through. The fifth condition: Each must be free of a hole that reveals three toes of the smallest toes of the foot according to the correct opinion, not less than that. However, if the hole is small enough to reveal less than three toes of the smallest toes of the foot, it is permissible to wipe over it.
The second: There should be no occurrence of impurity before and after wearing the socks: If the socks are worn in a state of purity, and then an impurity occurs before wearing the Jarmuq, and then it is worn, it is not permissible to wipe over it, whether it was worn before wiping over the socks or after wiping over the Khuff, as long as impurity occurred before wearing the Jarmuq; because the ruling of impurity is established. See: Tabyin al-Haqaiq 1: 52, Nihayat al-Murad p.187, and Sharh al-Wiqayah p.114, and Allah knows best.
