Charity for One Born Before Dawn
Is the Zakat al-Fitr obligatory for someone who has a child born before the dawn of the day of Eid?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If it is before sunrise, Zakat al-Fitr is obligatory; if it is after, it is not obligatory. Refer to: Al-Wiqayah p. 260, Fath Bab al-Ianayah 1: 554, and Al-Hadiyah al-Alaiyah p. 241, and God knows best.
