Question
What is the ruling on someone who eats what is between his teeth while in prayer?
Answer
It is considered: If what he ate is less than a chickpea, then his prayer is not invalidated; because it is a small amount that cannot be avoided, thus it is treated like saliva. However, if it is the size of a chickpea, his prayer is invalidated; because its remaining between the teeth is unusual and can be avoided. See: Al-Tabyin 1: 159.
