I say, and with God's success: It is throughout one's life and does not fall due to delay beyond the day of Eid al-Fitr, even if the period is long; because the command to perform it is unrestricted by time, and it must be performed at any time, not at a specific moment, except when it is specified by action or at the end of life. It is obligatory in a broad sense throughout life: like zakat, vows, expiations, and similar obligations according to the correct view; because the command to perform it is unrestricted by time, and the obligation only becomes limited at the end of life like the command regarding zakat and other commands that are unrestricted by time.
