The Ruling on the Call to Prayer for a Missed Prayer When Making It Up

Question
What is the ruling on the call to prayer for a missed prayer when making it up?
Answer

It is recommended to call the adhan for obligatory prayers that are performed in congregation, even if they are being made up. It is narrated from Imran ibn Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: "The Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, was on a journey and they slept through the Fajr prayer. They woke up with the heat of the sun, then they moved a little until it rose high, then he ordered the caller to prayer to call the adhan, then he prayed the two rak'ahs before Fajr, then the caller to prayer made the iqama and he prayed Fajr." This is recorded in Al-Mustadrak 1: 408, and authenticated, and in Sunan Al-Daraqutni 1: 200, and Sunan Abu Dawood 1: 121. See: Ramz al-Haqa'iq 1: 32.
