Question
A man has an amount of money that has reached the nisab and a year has passed on it. He was gifted an amount of money to support him and help him buy a taxi and work with it. Is zakat obligatory on this money, knowing that this money has not completed a year and is primarily for purchasing the car? Should this money be deducted from the amount that has completed a year and reached the nisab?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: What has completed a year must be given zakat on it, and the other amount, if a year has passed on it before buying the car, zakat is due on it, and God knows best.
