Postponing the Dowry Based on the Number of Children
What is the ruling on increasing the dowry based on the number of children, for example, the dowry without a child is one thousand dinars, and if she gives birth to a child, the dowry increases to two thousand?
Answer
I say, with Allah's guidance: The increase in dowry has nothing to do with children, and children are a consequence of the marriage contract. A woman is not allowed to refuse childbirth except with her husband's consent, and Allah knows best.
