What is the ruling on one who begins prayer voluntarily while having blood on his garment and is unaware of it?

If the blood is more than the amount of a dirham, he is not required to make up for it; because the initiation of prayer is not valid at all, as purification from impurity is a condition for the validity of prayer, and if it is missed, the initiation of prayer is not valid.
