Zakat on Trade Goods When They Become Stagnant
If the goods become stagnant, is Zakat on trade goods required? I heard that according to the Maliki school, Zakat is waived. Is it possible to adopt this opinion?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Zakat is obligatory on goods if they are for trade, and if the Maliki school of thought supports this, it can be beneficial for those in need, and God knows best.
