Zakat on the Wealth of Minors
The mother buys some gold for her young daughters, and a year passes and it reaches the nisab. Is there Zakat due on it? Sometimes the father buys, and sometimes gifts are given to the young girls?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is obligatory for the adult and is not obligatory on the wealth of minors, even if it reaches the nisab and a year has passed, and God knows best.
