Zakat on Savings for Hajj
I have saved an amount of 3000 dinars for Hajj until my turn comes, do I have to pay zakat on this amount, and what is its value?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is obligatory on any wealth saved for any reason, including pilgrimage, if a year has passed and it reaches the nisab, which is 100 grams of gold, and the zakat is 2.5%. And God knows best.
