Zakat on Savings Account
I have a savings account in the bank through a monthly pension, and the amount has reached (1500) dinars. I withdraw from it monthly, do I owe Zakat on one thousand dinars?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Zakat is only obligatory for one who possesses one hundred grams of gold and a year has passed on it. Therefore, there is no Zakat on your wealth if it is only (1000) dinars; because it has not reached the threshold. And God knows best.
