Zakat on Owned Property Due to Inheritance

Question
Is zakat obligatory on a car that I inherited, knowing that I intended to trade with it at the time of ownership?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is not obligatory on it even if you intended it for trade as long as you have not sold it; because it is a condition for the asset on which zakat is obligatory, in addition to the intention of trading with it, that its ownership be due to a voluntary reason, and inheritance is considered a compulsory reason and not a voluntary one, and God knows best.
