Zakat on Ornamental Gold
A woman has ornamental gold weighing (85) grams, and she does not wear it often. Is there Zakat on it, and what is the amount of this Zakat?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Zakat is obligatory on gold if it reaches (100) grams, otherwise, zakat is not obligatory on it. If it reaches this amount, its zakat (2.5%) is paid every year, whether it is for adornment or not, whether it is worn or not. And God knows best.
