Zakat on Money Intended for Buying an Apartment in the Future
Is it necessary to pay Zakat on money if it has reached the nisab but a year has not passed, while this amount is saved for buying an apartment after a year or two?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: When wealth reaches the nisab and a year has passed, its zakat must be paid, even if it is saved for a purpose such as a house, marriage, or otherwise. And God knows best.
