Question
A father left an amount of money for his daughter before his death, and he recommended that the money be used for charitable works such as helping the poor and others. Then the amount reached the nisab and a year passed, should zakat be paid from it?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: Zakat is not obligatory on this money; because it is a charity for the poor that you have entrusted to perform, it is no longer owned by anyone so that zakat becomes obligatory on it, and God knows best.
