Zakat on Buildings Prepared for Trade
I am a partner in a house that was built from the beginning for the purpose of trade, and it has been years between the construction and the sale. Is there Zakat due on this house? How is it calculated?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If you intend to sell from the beginning, then zakat is obligatory, and you must estimate its value every year and pay its zakat, and God knows best.
