Zakat of a Patient with Alzheimer's
My mother has Alzheimer's and I am responsible for her. She has money, is zakat obligatory on her wealth?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Zakat is obligatory on her wealth when it reaches the nisab, and you must pay the zakat on her behalf as long as she is of sound mind, and God knows best.
