Zakat for Someone with Deferred Debt to a Usurious Bank
A person borrowed an amount from a usurious bank and bought an apartment with it. He has to pay (500) dinars every month to the bank, and he has (10) thousand dinars in liquidity. Does he have to pay zakat?
Answer
I say, and with God's help, he must pay zakat on ten thousand dinars; because his debt to the bank is deferred, and God knows best.
