Women's Maintenance
On whom is a woman's maintenance obligatory in order? Do cousins and uncles fall under this? And if there is no one, to whom does the maintenance transfer?
Answer
I say, and with Allah's success: A woman's maintenance is the responsibility of her father before her marriage, then it transfers to her husband after the contract until he provides for her before and after the wedding, and then it transfers according to inheritance, as detailed in the expenses, and this includes the maternal uncle and the cousin. Allah knows best.
