What is the ruling for someone who vowed to fast a month while in good health, fasted part of the month while in good health, then became ill and died before completing the month?
Answer
He was required to recommend a ransom for the remaining days of the month; if he died without recommending it, his children may feed a poor person for each day. Refer to: Bada'i' al-Sana'i' 2: 105.
