Question
A person died after suffering from an illness for three years, during which he was unable to perform prayers or fasting because he did not have the ability to move, speak, or maintain purity. What is the ruling on what he missed of them?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If he is able to gesture during prayer and did not pray, it remains a debt upon him, and his family can give charity on his behalf for each prayer, providing food for a needy person, which is estimated at two dinars. If he is not able, then there is no prayer upon him, and God knows best.
