Whoever believes that prayer is not obligatory for him
I have many relatives who say that whoever utters the word of monotheism is allowed not to pray, so they do not pray based on this. Are they considered apostates because of that? And if they are apostates, what will be their fate in the hereafter? I have heard that disbelievers are eternally in hell, does this mean that my relatives' fate is hell?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Whoever believes this disbelieves in God Almighty and will be eternally in the fire. However, it seems that this is not a firm belief among them, but rather ignorance. They need someone to discuss with them, teach them, and clarify this for them. And God knows best.
