Who Cannot Fast and Has Nothing to Give in Charity
A woman who is sick with diabetes cannot fast or make up the fast due to her illness, and her family is also very poor with no one to help them. What is the solution regarding the expiation?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If you cannot fast and do not have anything to give in charity, seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty. If you recover from your illness, you should fast for the days you missed, or if you have something to give in charity, you can give in charity for the past fasts. And Allah knows best.
