Question
Is it permissible for a man to wash his deceased wife or to bid her farewell and kiss her? If he does so out of ignorance, does he have to make expiation or seek forgiveness?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If a woman dies, her husband is not allowed to wash her because the marriage bond has ended, making him a stranger to her. If he does so, he must repent and seek forgiveness, and God knows best.
