Question
Many years ago, I encountered a problem and I sought help from Allah, and the problem was resolved. After hearing the good news on the phone, I said I would offer a sacrifice for the sake of Allah, if Allah wills. Is this a vow, and what is the ruling if I have not fulfilled it until now?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If it is in this form, then it is not obligatory for the vow to be fulfilled, God willing. This form does not contain a definitive commitment to the vow, so it is not obligatory, and God knows best.
