Vow of Charity

Question
Before I got employed, I decided that when I get a job, I would give the value of the zakat threshold from every amount I receive. I don't remember if this was an internal conversation between me and myself or a vow, and I haven't done this until now. Several years have passed, and I have two questions: What should I do for the previous years and the upcoming years? What should I do if I can't determine the amount for the previous years?
Answer

I say, and with God's success: It is not necessary to pay zakat until a full year has passed on the wealth, and it is permissible to do so before that for anyone who possesses the nisab. What I mentioned, whether it is a vow or a recent obligation to oneself, is not significant. You must adhere to paying the zakat due on the wealth and nothing else. It is recommended for you to give charity as you wish, and God knows best.
