Question
Is it obligatory for the heir to verify the source of the inherited funds knowing that they are old bank accounts and nothing is known about them... their profits have increased... with the heirs previously unaware of their existence?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: The heirs must obtain a detailed report from the bank indicating the amount of usurious increase in these funds to dispose of it through charity; because it is not permissible to benefit from or inherit it; as it is impure money, and God knows best.
