Using the Company's Device for Personal Matters

Question
My husband has a laptop provided to him by the company he works for, and he leaves it at home and doesn't need it for work because he has another device in the office. My son sometimes uses it to follow his lectures when his device malfunctions. Is this considered a sin?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If the company has granted him ownership, then anyone is allowed to use it. However, if it remains owned by the company and is given to him solely for the company's work, then no one is allowed to use it unless there is explicit permission or indication to that effect. And God knows best.
