Using Contraceptives Without the Husband's Knowledge
Is the husband's consent required when the wife wants to use contraceptives? And if she does so and lies to him that she is not using them, what are the consequences?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: The placement of an IUD or any other contraceptive must be agreed upon by both spouses, as having children is the right of each of them. It is not permissible for one to deny the other their right, and it is a sin for anyone to do so without the other's consent. And God knows best.
