Using Asthma Inhaler Daily for Fasting
My son is twenty years old and suffers from allergies. He is constantly using a nebulizer and inhaler in both summer and winter, and he is a smoker. Is it true that the inhaler breaks the fast, knowing that he takes it twice a day, morning and evening, and he cannot breathe well without it? If it does break the fast, he will remain unable to fast for his entire life?

I say, and with God's help: Asthma spray breaks the fast because it has substance. If a person uses it daily and cannot do without it, he is considered unable to fast due to a persistent incapacity. Therefore, he must pay the expiation for fasting, which is to feed a needy person for each day he breaks his fast, and it is estimated at two dinars. And God knows best.
