Using a Toothbrush
A woman used to brush her teeth and tongue with toothpaste and a toothbrush in the morning, including during the day in Ramadan, and she recently learned that this is not permissible. Is this correct, and if so, what is the ruling on the days of Ramadan that have passed?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is strongly disliked to use a toothbrush after the day has begun in fasting; due to the possibility of the taste reaching the throat, which would break the fast. If she felt its taste previously in her throat, she must make up the fast, and God knows best.
