Touching the Quran Without Ablution
How do we deal with the issue of touching the Quran, especially in Quranic centers when women of advanced age break their ablution, especially since they say that this issue reduces their reading of the Quran, as well as with children when carrying the Qurans?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It is permissible for young children to touch the Quran without ablution; due to their lack of obligation in this regard, but performing ablution for them is a matter of education and habituation. As for adult women, they must be in a state of purity to touch the Quran, and this is a matter agreed upon among the scholars. And God knows best.
