Threatening the Husband with Divorce if He Marries Another

Question
A righteous woman, but her husband no longer needs her and only approaches her when necessary. He feels distressed living with her and remains in the marital relationship only out of fear of being unjust to her and their children. He wants to marry a second wife, but the first wife completely refuses and has given him the choice between divorce or being satisfied with her alone. What is better: for him to divorce her or to secretly marry another? Such questions are becoming more common these days, so we seek your guidance and advice to find the most suitable path to avoid wronging others and ourselves.
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: Marriage is permitted by the wise legislator, and the wife does not have the right to prevent her husband from it; because this would lead him into temptation and what is forbidden. Therefore, it is permissible for the husband to marry even if his wife refuses it, and if she chooses to separate from him afterwards, that is her concern. He should act in a way that is safer for his religion and preserves himself. And God knows best.
