Question
If the husband is well-off and does not make a sacrifice, and his wife sacrifices from her own money, does that suffice for the household and its members, including the husband?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the husband is wealthy enough to own the equivalent of the zakat threshold, which is 100 grams of gold, then it is obligatory for him to offer a sacrifice from his wealth. As for the wife, if she is also wealthy, it is obligatory for her to offer a sacrifice for herself from her wealth. A sheep is only valid for one person, and if someone wants to sacrifice on behalf of their family, they should specify a sacrifice for each one of them, or they can sacrifice on the holiday for the sake of God Almighty and dedicate its reward to them. It is also valid for a woman to sacrifice on behalf of her husband if he agrees to it. And God knows best.
