Question
If a woman is married to more than one man in this world, who will she be with in Paradise? And if she does not love her husband and does not want to see him in Paradise, does she have a choice in this?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: It was reported in the narration from the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Any woman whose husband dies and then marries after him, she belongs to her last husband" in Al-Mu'jam Al-Awsat 3: 275.
And in the hadith: from 'Awf ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) who says: "The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) prayed over a funeral, and I memorized from his supplication as he said: O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, and grant him health and pardon him, and honor his resting place, and expand his entrance, and wash him with water, ice, and cold, and cleanse him from sins as a white garment is cleansed from dirt, and replace his house with a better house than his, and a family better than his family, and a wife better than his wife, and admit him to Paradise and protect him from the punishment of the grave or the punishment of the Fire." He said: Until I wished that I were that deceased person" in Sahih Muslim 2: 663, and what you asked about the matters of the unseen, and what has been narrated in it is a reference to what you asked, and Allah knows best.
