The Witr Prayer According to Other Schools to Prevent Confusion
I am the imam of a mosque and I always pray Witr according to the Hanafi method. Now during Ramadan, when I pray Witr with the people, and because they are accustomed to praying it during Ramadan according to the Shafi'i method, in order to avoid confusion in the mosque, I have to pray Witr with them according to the Shafi'i method. Is my action correct or not?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: You should adhere to your school of thought and not abandon it except for necessity or fitna, and this is not one of them. You can give them a lesson on the existence of a new fixed image of the Prophet in the Witr and teach it to them, and God knows best.
