Question
Is a widow held accountable for her actions regarding her children's money? She was working and combining her salary with her deceased husband's pension; is she also sinful for that? Is it permissible for the husband's family to take anything from it, knowing that they are not in need?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: The pension salary must be divided according to the law's division among the heirs, and others are not entitled to anything from it. The mother must spend from each one's share according to what she sees fit, and it is not permissible to mix it with her salary; because the rights to it are multiple. And God knows best.
