The Waiting Period of a Woman Whose Husband Has Apostatized from Islam
What is the duration of the waiting period for a woman whose husband has apostatized from Islam? And if he repents, utters the two testimonies, and takes her back into his marriage before the waiting period ends, is their marriage valid?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: If a person renounces Islam, the marriage contract is annulled, and the woman must observe the waiting period of divorce. If he returns to Islam during the waiting period or otherwise, the marriage contract must be renewed. And God knows best.
