The Vow to Slaughter a Sheep and Eat from Its Shoulder

Question
If someone vowed to slaughter a sheep and take the shoulder for himself, is it permissible for him to eat from the shoulder and feed his children from it?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: his vow is binding except for the shoulder of the sheep, and he may dispose of the shoulder as he wishes, whether for eating for himself, his child, or otherwise. And God knows best.
