The Virtue of the Sunnah Prayer Before Dhuhr
What is the reward for praying four rak'ahs before the obligatory Asr prayer? Is it true that one deserves the mercy of Allah?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: This was mentioned in the hadith, narrated by Ibn Umar, may God be pleased with him, who said that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "May God have mercy on a person who prays four (rak'ahs) before the 'Asr (afternoon) prayer." It is found in Sunan Abu Dawood 2: 23, and Sunan Al-Tirmidhi 2: 295, and it is considered good.
