The Validity of Fasting on a Day of Doubt About Purity

Question
I was in doubt yesterday about whether I had purified from menstruation, so I fasted as a precaution. When I was sure, I performed the ritual bath in the afternoon, and 'no blood came down that day.' Is my fast valid or not? Knowing that I had the pre-dawn meal and intended to fast as a precaution, and I completed the fast, performed the bath, and prayed when I was sure of my purity, what is the ruling?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: Your fasting is valid if you purified yourself before dawn, and you must make up the prayers that you missed on this day while you were pure, and God knows best.
