The Use of the Phrase 'The Deceased' or 'The Blessed' for the Dead
Is it permissible to refer to the deceased as 'the blessed' or 'the forgiven' when we do not truly know whether they are blessed or forgiven?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: This is a form of praying for him for forgiveness and mercy, so it is permissible, and it is not stating that he is truly forgiven; for only God Almighty knows that. And God knows best.
