The Supplication in the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Generous

Question
In Iraq, the Wahhabis object to the call of the muezzin during the Taraweeh prayer: 'O Compassionate, O Generous, O Judge...' etc., on the grounds that it is not mentioned in the hadith. Is it really an innovation as they claim?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: This is mentioned in the Quran and is supported by authentic hadith; because we have been commanded to glorify, to declare God's greatness, and to remember Him in all its forms with abundance. Therefore, mentioning it is a response to the command of God Almighty and His Messenger, and whoever denies it is the one who abandons the Quran and the Sunnah, and is an innovator in religion by neglecting what the community has inherited and practiced throughout its history from all its great scholars. And God knows best.
