Question
What is the ruling on swearing on the Quran? A person swears because of another person who falsely accuses him. He swore about something that happened, but the judge reads events about something that happened, and he did not say anything or harm anyone. The judge told him to say, 'I swear by God that I will speak the truth and nothing but the truth,' and he only spoke the truth, but the judge read events that did not occur. Do these things fall under the oath he took?
Answer
I say, and with God's help: It may be permissible to swear if it is to prevent injustice, and God knows best.
