The Sale of Livestock for Trade
Is zakat obligatory on camels, cattle, and sheep if they are grazed for most of the year with the intention of selling and trading, not for milk and breeding?
Answer
I say, and with God's success: If the assets are for sale and trade, then they are subject to the zakat of traders, not the zakat of livestock; because they differ in amount and reason, so one should not be considered as the other, nor should one be based on the other, and God knows best.
