The Sacrifice for the Father

Question
What is the ruling on sacrificing for the deceased with the intention of following in his footsteps and emulating him since he used to sacrifice every year? Should it be accepted as a sacrifice or should we intend it as a charity for him?
Answer
I say, and with God's guidance: This act is one of the good deeds through which the reward reaches the deceased without depriving the living from it. It is permissible to intend it as a sacrifice for the father or to gift its reward to him, and God knows best.
